THE COIR BOARD PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION
THE COIR BOARD PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION was founded in the year 1980 with an objective towards the general welfare of the Coir Board service pensioners. The Association functions as a platform for the boards pensioners to take up with the Coir Board their genuine and legitimate rights and grievances as the service/family Pensioners of Coir Board Kochi under the Ministry of MSME Government of India. The Association, through its internal dialogues with the Chairman and other Executives of the Coir Board and regular liaison and follow up with the boards Headquarters, maintains a cordial relationship with the boards office for a speedier disposal of the matters connected with the pensioners and their entitlements from time to time.
PATRON OF THE ASSOCIATION
CHAIRMAN COIR BOARD IS THE PATRON OF THE COIR BOARD PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION.
FOUNDER PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY OF THE ASSOCIATION LATE SHRI T.DEVIDAS (former Secretary) and Late Ramavarma Raja were founder the President/Secretary of the Association.
MANAGEMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION
The management of the association is vested with an executive Committee consisting of the president, secretary, vice president, Joint secretary, treasurer and other 11 members duly elected in the annual general body meeting of the association.the Executive committee, once elected shall hold office for a
period of one year or can continue further as per decision of The general body meeting.
HEADQUARTERS AND OTHER UNITS OF THE ASSOCIATION.
The Coir Board Pensioners Association is functioning with the Headquarters at Kochi, Kerala. The meetings and other activities of the Association are held at the Coir Board Headquarters, Kochi-16 with the consent obtained from time to time from Boards authorities. The request made by the Association to the Chairman, Coir Board to allot an Office space inside the Coir Board HQ premises have gained positive response and it is expected to materialise soon.
As of now, the Association has one field level unit at Kalavoor , Alleppey, Kerala. This unit is managed by a committee consisting of President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and
committee members . The functional space for this unit is provided by the CCRI , Coir Board Kalavoor on need based requests made. The Kalavoor Unit of the Association has at present strength of 11 members of the Executive Committee.
MEMBERSHIP IN THE ASSOCIATION
The members are suo motu admitted to the Association soon after their retirement/superannuation of each employee from the Coir Board service. THE MEMBERS BELONGING to family Pensioners category are admitted automatically at the cessation of membership of the pensioner and or the death of an employee while in service. As on 30.11.2022 the association has a total membership of 407 pensioners under the Coir Board.
No admission fee and monthly/yearly subscriptions are insisted by the Association.
Contributions to the Association fund are purely voluntary.
